Crash knocks out power, traffic signals Saturday morning in Fargo

FARGO, ND – A crash Saturday morning left a driver with minor injuries and damage to a power pole.

According to Sergeant Brandon Kerr, the crash happened in the 2900 block of Broadway North at 6:41 a.m. Police responded to a single vehicle crash involving a struck power pole.

When they arrived, they witnessed businesses in the area and stoplights without power.

Xcel Energy was consulted due to the damage sustained to the power pole, and the City of Fargo’s Sign and Signal team responded and worked to restore the traffic signal at the intersection of 29th Avenue and Broadway North.

The driver was cited for careless driving.

The incident is inder investigation.
