Two garages damaged by fire in Fargo

FARGO – The Fargo Fire Department says two garages were destroyed, and at least two others damaged, in a fire Monday afternoon.

Crews were called to the 3400 block of 33rd Street South at 4:30 p.m. on a report of smoke coming from the garages behind apartments in the area, according to Fargo Fire Department fire marshal Ryan Erickson.

When they arrived, they found fire involving ‘at least one’ of the garage units. After getting to the unit, there were several units involved – two of which were totally destroyed and two others suffered damage, Erickson said. At least two vehicles were inside the garages.

A second alarm response was initiated to bring additional crews to the scene.

No injuries have been reported.

Firefighters continue to work the blaze, putting out hotspots and dealing with electricity to the units. A fire investigator has been called to the scene, Erickson said.
