BISMARCK, ND – North Dakota Supreme Court justice Daniel Crothers is retiring.
The 20-year veteran of the state’s highest court says his last day will be February 28 of next year.
“It has been my honor to serve on the Court,” Crothers wrote in a letter to Governor Kelly Armstrong.
He began his public service career as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Walsh County before entering a career in private practice. He was appointed to the high court by then-Governor John Hoeven in 2005 before being elected to an unexpired term three years later, before being reelected twice – in 2012 and 2022.
