UPDATE: Child dies after Moorhead crash involving city Mack Truck

UPDATE – A child who appeared to have been riding a bike has died after a crash involving a City of Moorhead Mack Truck.

A State Patrol report says the truck driven by a 64-year-old West Fargo man was heading north on 14th Street and 40th Avenue near Reinertsen Elementary when it collided with a nine-year-old Moorhead boy. Authorities don’t believe alcohol was a factor in the crash and say the boy wasn’t wearing a helmet.

The truck driver wasn’t hurt and was wearing a seat belt.

 

MOORHEAD, Minn. – The city of Moorhead says a deadly crash took place Thursday between a bicyclist and a driver operating a city vehicle.

The city says a Moorhead public works vehicle was involved in the crash at the intersection of 40th Avenue and 14th Street South near Reinertsen Elementary.

A press release about the crash did not specify who exactly was killed.

The Minnesota State Patrol is said to be investigating.

An ambulance was also seen leaving the area.
