Fargo, N.D. – Management at District 64 in Downtown Fargo issued a statement on social media in the wake of a Sunday morning shooting leaving one dead and two hurt near their establishment.
Saying they’re “deeply saddened” by the shooting, the statement explained that the “incident did not originate or occur” within their bar.
“Video surveillance and witness accounts show one of the victims running North on the sidewalk parallel to Broadway when he then turned and ran toward our establishment while appearing to flee the shooter, and was struck,” part of the statement read.
District 64 says they are “working with Fargo PD and assisting them in any way we can while they complete their investigation”

“We are deeply saddened by the incident that occurred in Downtown Fargo early this morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and everyone included. At District 64, the safety of our guests and staff is our highest priority. We employ trained security personnel and everyone entering our establishment is searched to ensure firearms are never permitted on our premises. We want to clarify that the incident DID NOT originate or occur within District 64. Video surveillance and witness accounts show one of the victims running North on the sidewalk parallel to Broadway when he then turned and ran toward our establishment while appearing to flee the shooter, and was struck. While we cannot control acts of violence in public spaces, we feel it is important to share these details, especially as our name has been mentioned in initial reports. We have been working with Fargo PD and assisting them in any way we can while they complete their investigation. District 64 remains committed to being a safe establishment in the Downtown Fargo Community.”
