FARGO, N.D. – Fargo’s colorful downtown water tower that has now become one of the city’s crown jewels has won a nationwide contest.
The Tnemec Company announced the tower, which stands at 7th Avenue and 11st Street North, was named their 2025 Tank of the Year.
The structure, which was constructed to replace three other aging towers, beat out more than 300 other nominees from across North America.
“This accomplishment was made possible by an outstanding collaboration of artists, designers, painters, engineers, builders, City staff and community members whose hard work turned this vision into reality,” said Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney in a written statement.
“Each person’s contribution helped shape what is now an iconic part of Fargo’s skyline.”
