Early morning fire at Fargo food processing plant

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – The Fargo Fire Department responded to an early morning fire at a food processing plant.

Just before 8:30 a.m. this morning, September 11, fire crews responded to Red River Commodities, Inc. on 7th Avenue North for reports of black smoke.

Officials say when they arrived, the business’s roaster and chimney was on fire.

Viewer video sent into Valley News Live shows heavy smoke and flames billowing out of the chimney.

They indicate the fire was contained to the roaster and ductwork, and was knocked down in about 15 minutes.

No injuries were reported, and crews remained on scene to ventilate smoke out of the building.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and an estimated cost of damages are unknown.
