OTTER TAIL COUNTY, Minn. – An 18-year-old man faces charges after a deadly Otter Tail County crash.
Deputies say they found a truck on its side in the ditch at 370th Street and 640th Avenue in Bluffton Township north of Wadena around 10:45 Tuesday night. Authorities say they found 18-year-old Blake Unger dead near the vehicle.
Eighteen-year-old Izak Schermerhorn was arrested and faces criminal vehicular homicide, fourth degree driving while intoxicated and underage drinking and driving charges.
Fourth degree DWI in Minnesota is typically charged when there are no aggravating factors like a prior DWI conviction within the past 10 years, a blood alcohol concentration of 0.16 or higher or a minor in the vehicle.
