FARGO – Fargo’s City Attorney is resigning.
According to a memo to Fargo City Commissioners from Administrator Michael Redlinger included in the commission’s consent agenda packet for Monday night’s meeting, Attorney Nancy Morris is resigning effective Monday. She has served as city attorney since Erik Johnson stepped down from the position in 2021.
No reason is given for the resignation, but the memo says Morris will ‘continue to serve the City of Fargo as an Assistant City Attorney in the future in a reduced capacity.’
The Commission will be asked to appoint Ian McLean as City Attorney. He’s served as an Assistant City Attorney since 2015 and ‘has provided valuable counsel in several areas’ to the City, Redlinger said.
