Fargo City Commission approves four to move forward to phase two of the Convention Center project

FARGO – The Fargo City Commission has given its stamp of approval for four sites to move forward to the next step in hopes of becoming the site for the new Convention Center in Fargo.

All five commissioners voted in favor of the sites, which include the City Quad, Brewhalla, the FargoDome and Scheels Arena.

City Commissioner Dave Piepkorn called the next phase in the process ‘the critical phase.’ It’ll include discussions on the financial models for the four locations.

“The critical thing is that it has to be financially successful,” he said. “And not be a burden on the taxpayers.”
