FARGO, N.D. – City leaders may be looking to make a change in the structure in the City Auditor’s Office.
With the retirement of longtime City Auditor Steve Sprague last month, Angie Bear has been serving as the public face of the Auditor’s Office in her role as the Deputy City Auditor. She has served with the City of Fargo for a period of seven years, starting as the Utility Billing Supervisors before being promoted to her current position three years ago.
Now, the City Finance Director, Susan Thompson, is set to propose that she be appointed the City Auditor. In a memo to City Commissioners, Thompson said the proposal would make ‘the related responsibilities of special assessments project accounting and special assessment project certification both reside within the Finance division.’
A similar dual title is used in City of Grand Forks government.
