Fargo city crews to remove homeless camps Friday

FARGO, N.D. – City of Fargo crews and police will begin clearing homeless camps Friday morning.

It was scheduled to happen Thursday, the day the camping ban went into effect, but was postponed because of the weather.

There are signs downtown saying the camping ban is in place and anyone in need of services can call 211. Police say there have not been sent to any calls to enforce the camping ban as of 11:00 Thursday morning.

Public Works Director Ben Dow says four camps along the Red River will be removed. Flag Family News saw two near City Hall. Those living in camps were given a 48 hour notice to leave. The city also says camps on Fargo Park District property will be removed.
