Fargo Exotic Pet Expo returns with expanded offerings and educational speakers

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) -The Fargo Exotic Pet Expo will return Saturday October 25th 10 A.M.- 4 P.M. with an expanded lineup of vendors, exotic animals and educational speakers for enthusiasts of reptiles, reef animals and exotic pets.

The event, formerly known as the Red River Reef and Reptile Expo, began in January 2013 as the Fargo Frag Swap. The expo has grown from its reef-focused origins to include reptiles, exotic birds and small animals, drawing vendors from across the region and nation.

Featured speakers and presentations

The 2025 expo will feature speaker presentations, including Kathleen “The Bugman’s Daughter,” who continues the educational legacy of her father, Don Carey, a former NDSU entomologist known as “The BugMan.”

The Center for Avian Adoption, Rescue and Education will present information about parrot care and exotic bird ownership. The all-volunteer parrot shelter operates two dedicated rooms for parrots awaiting adoption and educates the public about proper exotic bird care.

Ticket information and event details

VIP tickets cost $40 and include early access, express lane entry, an exclusive tote bag with vendor items, five free drawing tickets and $5 in Expo Bucks valid at all vendors.

General admission tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for teens ages 13-17. Children 12 and under attend free. Military, fire, police, EMS and education personnel receive 50% off adult admission.

VIP doors open at 9 a.m., with general admission beginning at 10 a.m. The event concludes at 4 p.m.
