FARGO, N.D. – Fargo’s Fire Chief is retiring nearly two months earlier than planned.
The city confirms Steve Dirksen will leave on May 16th.
There’s no word yet if the city has decided yet on his replacement.
Dirksen joined the fire department more than 14 years ago arriving from Sioux Falls where served as a battalion chief.
The public is invited to a retirement event with cookies and coffee at 2:00 Friday afternoon.
