FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – A man was arrested in Fargo after a woman claims he shot her in the face with a BB gun.
According to court documents, police responded to a Circle K gas station on University Drive South on June 21, shortly before 10:00 P.M., after a caller said a woman had just been shot in the face.
Police talked to two people who saw the woman running from the gas station. They said they saw someone shooting at the woman, but heard what sounded like BB gun sounds.
They talked to the man who reported the incident, who said that he was outside when the woman came up to him saying she had been shot in the face.
She also told him not to call the police because she had warrants.
Police located the woman and asked how she got the injury on her face. She said that she had gone over to Corey Patnaude’s apartment and he told her she couldn’t be there, so she went to the Circle K.
She says she saw Patnaude on a bicycle while in a nearby parking lot and “called him a b****.”
According to court documents, she claims that as she was walking away, Patnaude turned around on his bike, pulled out the BB gun, and shot at her several times.
The woman claims she dodged some of the BBs, but was struck in the face when she turned back to look at him.
Police say there was a visible injury on the woman’s face with blood visible on the left cheek.
Patnaude denied having a pellet or BB gun, but did see the woman in one of the parking lots by Circle K and claims they had a verbal argument.
Patnaude was arrested for aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon.
The woman was also arrested for her warrants out of Minnesota.
