FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – A Fargo man who was initially detained for a possible burglary was later arrested after making threats towards children.
According to court documents, officers responded to a possible burglary on August 12 around 7:40 P.M. They located Andrew Barrett, who matched the description of the suspect in that burglary, but he was released after it was learned that the homeowner did not want to press charges, Barrett was released.
Officers say that since Barrett was yelling and screaming at officers, they stayed in the area until he left to confirm he was no longer a threat. While he was walking away, Barrett screamed at multiple people and threatened to kill a young child and his friend.
The children approached an officer and told him about the threat, and Barrett was placed under arrest for terrorizing a child victim. He was arraigned on August 13.
