FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – After briefly trying to run away from Metro Street Crimes and Cass County Drug Task Force officials, a Fargo man was taken into custody with meth and fentanyl in his possession.

Court records say that officials had received information on James Rush’s location in Fargo. After they found him, officers observed him driving another man around to numerous locations around town for a few hours.

Rush has four convictions in North Dakota in the past five years for driving under revocation. He also has multiple open cases for the same according to officials.

After Rush stopped at another building in the 2100 block of 17 Street S., officers drove up to him with their lights flashing. Documents say that Rush immediately ran from one of the officers until another stepped out of their car and yelled at him to stop. They say that he had given up on his attempt to flee about 20 yards away.

He was arrested and placed in handcuffs on the ground. When they searched his person, officers found multiple packages of fentanyl, meth, and drug paraphernalia. Court documents also say that he admitted to selling fentanyl.
