Fargo, Moorhead firefighters knock down structure fire

MOORHEAD, MINN – Fire crews from Fargo and Moorhead responded to a structure fire this morning in Moorhead.

According to Moorhead Fire Battalion Chief Adam Puetz, the call came in at 7:20 a.m. to the 3000 block of 42nd Street South for a reported structure fire. Crews arrived and were directed to a heat exhaust port. That’s at the Pactiv Evergreen Corp.

After investigating the area, firefighters located fire extension around the smokestack and worked quickly to extinguish it. The fire was contained to the smokestack and didn’t spread. No other structural components were damaged.

No one was injured and damage estimates are not available. The cause remains under investigation.
