FARGO – A Fargo mom is reflecting on Charlie Kirk on the day he was shot dead at an event on a university campus in Utah.
Allie Ollenburger said she met Kirk in 2021 while at an event in Fargo. It was at this event that she was embraced by Kirk, whose national radio show, The Charlie Kirk Show, airs weekdays on AM 1100 The Flag.
“He was just a really true down-to-earth guy,” Ollenburger said. “It just felt like I was talking to somebody at the grocery store like he just was so personable and real.”
She said she admires his ‘willingness to have a conversation.’
“I think that is so much of what our society has lost is the ability to agree to disagree,” Ollenburger said. “And that is that is what Charlie went out and sought to do.”
Kirk was shot while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem.
