Fargo’s Downtown Engagement Center weekend operations temporarily paused

FARGO, ND – Fargo’s Downtown Engagement Center (DEC) is down to a five day a week operation, Fargo Cass Public Health officials say.

The change is temporary, Public Information Officer Holly Scott said.

“This temporary pause has provided our team the necessary time to train new staff in DEC operations,” she said. The building has closed throughout the month of May at 5 p.m. on Friday and reopened at 8 a.m. on Monday.

To provide individuals with an alternate daytime space during the temporary pause in DEC operations, the Gladys Ray Shelter has remained open during the daytime hours on Saturday and Sunday. In addition, transportation to other area drop-in centers such as Churches United and Stepping Stones Resource Center is being provided to guests. The temporary operation at the Gladys Ray Shelter provides limited services for guests.

Scott says the feedback on the changes has been positive.
