First on Flag Family: City Commissioner says Fargo communications department ‘under investigation’

Fargo, N.D. – Following the fallout over the way information was relayed to the public about Sunday’s deadly shootings in Fargo, an elected leader says the city’s entire communications department is under an investigation.

City Commissioner Dave Piepkorn confirmed on The Flag on Wednesday that the probe is underway, although he did not know the exact reason why or who is leading the investigation.

“I just heard about it yesterday [Tuesday],” said Piepkorn.  “To me, that’s very concerning.”

Pressed further if the probe is connected to the way information was disseminated to the public about the shootings, Piepkorn indicated he’ll begin to do some of his own digging.

“Obviously I’ll be asking some questions,” said Piepkorn.

Flag Family News did not immediately hear back from the city’s communications team about a request for comment to confirm the investigation is taking place, and, if so, the reason for the probe.
