Fargo, N.D. – Fargo is considering nine locations for a new convention center.
According to a map obtained by Flag Family, which lists all developers in the running, three of the proposals are close to the West Acres Mall.
Two are in the downtown area, while one is at the Fargodome.
Other sites include 52nd Avenue South just west of I-94, 32nd Avenue South near Scheels Arena and the southwest corner of the I-29/94 interchange.
A deadline for all developers to submits plans and ideas was set on Thursday, August 7th. The city now plans to publicly post all of the proposals at the city’s website for public input.
Previously on The Flag, Fargo Strategic Planning and Research Director Jim Gilmour says a shortlist will be drafted “in about a month” with proposals narrowed down to “three to five bidders” before a final selection is made by the City Commission.
