West Fargo, N.D. – A number of vehicles belonging to tenants at a West Fargo apartment complex were mistakenly towed from a parking lot this week during an apparent mix-up involving a nearby property management company.
The vehicles were suddenly whisked away without warning on the morning of July 9th from a lot that serves the Burlington Apartments at 1227 Queens Way.
Flag Family News obtained texts and emails that were sent to residents about the mishap:

The messages were sent to tenants just before noon by Meridian Property Management, which manages the Burlington complex.
“Due to a third-party miscommunication (not caused by Meridian) all vehicles in your parking lot were towed in error this morning,” part of the text message read.
The notifications went on to say that All Pro Towing, which took the vehicles away, “will release vehicles at no charge.”
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding.”
Both the email and text messages provided the address for All Pro Towing for pickup.

The towing service, which is located on 39th Street South in Fargo, is approximately a ten minute drive from the Burlington complex.
“It’s a pretty dumb situation,” one Burlington resident told Flag Family News.
Residents estimate between 10 and 15 cars were possibly taken during the ordeal, and that upwards of 20 vehicles can be parked at the complex on any given day.
When reached for comment, All Pro Towing says a property management company, which they did not name, “didn’t notify residents” about moving vehicles before a sweeping of parking lot spaces that morning at 8am.

Asked later to confirm the property management company that made the order, a person who answered the towing office phone declined to comment.
“We’re just doing our job,” the respondent said before the conversation was ended.
Flag Family News also reached out to Meridian to clarify the situation.
Operations Assistant Gail Wyatt confirmed in an email that the towing “was not initiated by Meridian or any of our staff” but would only say the “work was scheduled by another property management company at a neighboring complex.”
“We were not made aware of the situation until after the vehicles had already been removed from the property,” the written statement read. “Upon learning of the incident, our team immediately went to the site to assess the situation and coordinate recovery efforts on behalf of our residents.”
Wyatt said they were “working with residents to help them retrieve their vehicles at no cost”, but added “regarding how or why it happened would be best directed to them [the other property manager] and we are unsure of who specifically initiated this process.”
Asked about reimbursing residents who might’ve had to use rideshare services to travel to All Pro Towing to retrieve vehicles, Meridian deferred to the business entity that they say was responsible.
“We are not aware of what – if any – steps the property management company responsible for the towing error is taking to make amends to affected residents.”
Charleswood Townhomes is also located nearby at 1908 Burlington Drive in West Fargo.
In a written email response, Goldmark Property Management, which oversees that property, says they “scheduled routine parking lot sweeping at Charleswood…and coordinated towing through All Pro Towing for that purpose” that morning.
A representative for Goldmark says All Pro Towing later acknowledged that they were “mistakenly given incorrect address details by the painting contractor working at the site, which resulted in vehicles at Burlington Apartments being towed in error.”
“We provided All Pro Towing with accurate address information for our buildings.”
Goldmark claims All Pro Towing “has taken responsibility for the error” and that all vehicles “have been returned to their owners free of charge.”
