FLOCK technology helps Fargo Police arrest robbery suspect

FARGO, ND – Fargo Police say FLOCK license plate readers aided officers in apprehending a robbery suspect.

Police were called to a business in the 4200 block of 13th Avenue South on Tuesday, May 20 for a reported robbery.

The incident began when a loss prevention employee spotted a woman loading a cart with high-value merchandise and attempting to leave the business without paying. When the employee tried to stop the individual, the woman began to ram the employee with the full shopping cart, and then splashed hot coffee from her cup into the employee’s face, causing redness, pain and damage to the employee’s clothing. A coffee machine, valued at $700, was taken by the suspect.

The suspect was identified as 27-year-old Madison Dunkirk, of Fargo.

Officers were on routine patrol last Thursday when they spotted her inside a vehicle near 25th Street and 19th Avenue South. Officer Elliot Duggan lost sight of the vehicle initially but used the FLOCK license plate readers to locate the vehicle’s last known position and arrested Dunkirk in the 1200 block of Broadway North.

She’s been charged with robbery and was arrested for outstanding warrants.
