FARGO – A former Clay County corrections employee has been sentenced in connection with an April crash involving a 79-year-old woman in Fargo.
Authorities say he fled from officers at speeds of 140 miles per hour on his motorcycle, running red lights at busy intersections along the way, and later crashed with another vehicle and was thrown from the bike at the intersection of 52nd Avenue South and 31st Street South.
Two people in that car were hurt in the crash.
Avery Quiner was sentenced Monday on two charges of fleeing a police officer and one charge of reckless endangerment – extreme indifference. Two other charges were dismissed.
Judge Reid Brady handed down a probation sentence of two years to Quiner, in addition to 300 hours of community service.
