DICKINSON, ND – A former President at North Dakota State University has died.
The University says Jim Ozbun, who served as President of the University from 1988 until 1995, died Sunday in Bismarck. He was 88.
Funeral services are set for Saturday morning at 10 a.m. in Dickinson. He’ll be buried in Flasher.
“I encourage you to reflect on his enduring impact and join me in extending heartfelt condolences to all members of our community who knew and worked with him,” current NDSU President David Cook wrote in an email to campus. “Our NDSU community is grateful for his many significant contributions.”
Among Ozbun’s accomplishments were helping to move NDSU football to its current home, the FargoDome, and the establishment of the Ellig Sports Complex, which includes a track, two soccer fields and four softball diamonds.
