BISMARCK, N.D. – North Dakota Governor Kelly Armstrong is set to announce his pick as the state’s next Superintendent of Public Instruction on Tuesday, Oct. 21.
He’ll do so at a press conference at 2:00 PM central that will be streamed on the governor’s Facebook page.
Kirsten Baesler has served in the position since 2013. She was recently confirmed by the U.S. Senate to become the Assistant Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education.
Armstrong’s appointee will serve as Superintendent of Public Instruction until the November 2026 election. Voters will then decide who will complete Baesler’s term expires at the end of 2028.
