Grand Forks man appeals case involving mother, Grand Forks Police officer’s death to the N.D. Supreme Court

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The Grand Forks man convicted of killing a Grand Forks Police officer and his mother, while injuring another and a Grand Forks County deputy, is taking his case back to the North Dakota Supreme Court.

Salamah Pendleton filed an appeal to the state’s high court earlier this week. The appeal asks the court to consider whether the Grand Forks County District Court erred in granting a summary judgement.

Pendleton was sentenced in October 2021 to life in prison without the possibility of parole in the killing of his mother, Lola Moore, and Grand Forks Police officer Cody Holte, along with the injuries of Corporal Patrick Torok and Corporal Ron Nord of the Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office.
