Hoeven announces $33M to fund new ND Air Natl Guard training headquarters

Fargo, N.D. –  The North Dakota Air National Guard is getting a boost of federal funding to build a new headquarters for its 119th Wing in Fargo.

U.S. Senator John Hoeven was in Fargo on Friday to announce 33-million dollars was secured to start the planning and design phase.

The idea is to consolidate space for the guard’s training and operations on site by providing nearly 22,400 square feet of space.

“The Happy Hooligans have a record of pure excellence, and are one of the best units in the Air National Guard,” said Hoeven.

“Moreover, they are in the fight globally every single day supporting our military, special forces and intelligence agencies, and they deserve facilities that more effectively support the important missions they carry out for our nation.”

Currently, the Guard’s Regional Training Site is spread across several buildings.
