GRAFTON — A 27-year-old man is facing charges after assaulting federal agents.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Fargo, Carlos Guzman-Pineda was stopped on August 25 by law enforcement in Grafton. During the stop, Border Patrol agents determined that he was an illegal alien from El Salvador. Guzman-Pineda, 27, attempted to evade law enforcement, and his arrest, by violently assaulting Border Patrol agents.
If convicted, Guzman-Pineda faces up to eight years in prison and $25,0000 in fines.
The FBI and U.S. Border Patrol are investigating.
