WAHPETON, N.D. – Officials with Cargill have confirmed that an incident took place Wednesday at the company’s plant in Wahpeton.
According to a statement from Cargill, the incident was contained quickly with help from the Wahpeton Fire Department. Our partners at Valley News Live say an explosion occurred, with investigators tracing the cause to dust buildup in a dryer chamber.
Minimal damage was sustained in the incident.
The company’s spokesperson said one employee sustained a minor injury but has since received care.
