MANDAN, N.D. – A North Dakota judge reduces damages owed by Greenpeace in a Dakota Access Pipeline lawsuit to $345 million.
That’s nearly half of the original $667 million awarded by a jury.
The lawsuit stems from protests nearly a decade ago against the Dakota Access pipeline near the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe.
Greenpeace and Energy Transfer plan to appeal the ruling with Greenpeace seeking a new trial.
The case will next be reviewed by the North Dakota Supreme Court.
