EDINA, Minn. – Legacy Toys, which has a store at West Acres Mall, has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The Minnesota-based retailer’s owner Brad Ruoho said stores in Fargo, Edina, Minnetonka, Roseville and Duluth will remain open.
Ruoho added tariffs didn’t cause the bankruptcy, but were the final straw leading up to the court action since the toy industry relies on China for most of its products.
Records show Legacy Toys has assets of more than $600,000, but its liabilities are nearly $1.8 million.
