FARGO – A local nonprofit is set to host its fourth annual walk to raise awareness for veterans dealing with suicidal thoughts.
The organization Heroes Compass is set to host the walk on Monday beginning at 9:22 a.m. at Fargo’s Percy Godwin Park, also known as Elephant Park. The park is located along Elm Street at 19th Avenue North, near the Fargo VA Medical Center. The walk is 2.2 miles.
According to Heroes Compass, 22 veterans commit suicide every day.
The walk will take participants from Elephant Park to the Downtown Fargo VFW Post #762 building.
