Man arrested for standing on train tracks, forcing train to stop in downtown Fargo

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – Fargo Police responded to a man allegedly standing in the middle of the train tracks obstructing the train. At approximately 8:24 p.m. on Oct. 14 Police responded to the area of 4th Avenue North and Broadway.

When officers arrived they found Emmanuel Sloan standing in the middle of the train tracks with the crossing gates down and lights flashing red, allegedly causing the train to stop moving.

While speaking to Sloan, officers stated he walked away into the roadway and into traffic. Police instructed him to stop when they began placing him under arrest.

Sloan tensed his body making it difficult to place him under arrest and continued resisting. He then allegedly turned his head and spit on an officer’s face.

He has been cited for pedestrian obstructing traffic.
