CASS COUNTY, ND — A North Dakota man is accused of threatening a federal official while referencing last weekend’s deadly shooting of a Minnesota lawmaker.
FBI agents arrested 46-year-old Charles Dalzell on Monday. A federal criminal complaint says Dalzell emailed a federal prosecutor saying, “Now I’m going to be honest with you I don’t want this situation to end up like Minnesota over the weekend do you?” The alleged email went on to say, “I’m trying to get all of you to actually follow the law, not ignore me, not lie to me, mot mislead me and purposely waste my time I don’t have.”
Dalzell is charged with interstate threats and threats against a federal official.
