TANSEM TOWNSHIP, Minn. – A man is dead after a crash in rural Clay County Tuesday morning.
The State Patrol responded to State Highway 34 between Barnesville and Dunvilla around 8:30.
Troopers say 89-year-old Burton Swenson of Barnesville was driving east and 64-year-old Cary Zepper of Hawley was heading west when their vehicles collided.
Swenson died at the scene and Zepper was taken to a Fargo hospital for injuries authorities describe as non-life threatening.
The State Patrol says both were wearing seat belts and don’t believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. Troopers describe the road conditions as dry at the time of the crash.
