FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – A Fargo man is facing multiple felony charges of assault after he allegedly tried to strangle a doctor and kicked a deputy.
Deputies were called to Sanford Hospital on Thursday, September 18, after a man, identified as Brent Brewer, was not allowed to leave and got upset with staff.
Court documents show that Brewer grabbed a doctor by the collar of his shirt and twisted it, trying to strangle the doctor. Brewer then allegedly punched the doctor in the bicep, causing pain.
Nurses at the hospital ended up restraining Brewer on a bed. Court records indicate Brewer then decided to spit in one of the nurses’ faces.
When Brewer was arrested and taken to the Cass County Jail, he allegedly kicked a deputy in the hip and shoulder area, causing pain.
Brewer is facing two felony charges of Simple assault and one felony charge of Contact by bodily fluids.
Brewer is expected to be in court again on October 29 at 9 am.
