MINNESOTA (Valley News Live) – Voters across Minnesota will head to the polls Tuesday to decide important races and ballot measures, including school funding referendums and contested legislative seats.
School funding measures
Moorhead Public Schools has two questions on the ballot. Question one would increase general education funding by $575 per student for 10 years, starting in 2026.
Question two authorizes a capital project levy raising about $1.5 million annually for 10 years. That money would fund facility repairs, technology upgrades and new school vehicles. The total cost over 10 years would be $15 million.
The district’s previous referendum failed last year.
In the Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton School District, voters will decide on a referendum to increase funding by $500 per student.
The referendum revenue authorization would last for 10 years, beginning with taxes payable in 2026. The measure includes an increase each year by the rate of inflation beginning with taxes payable in 2027, unless otherwise revoked or reduced as provided by law.
