MOORHEAD, Minn. (Valley News Live) – Moorhead Area Public Schools and its teachers union reached a tentative agreement Wednesday on a two-year contract following nearly 10 hours of mediation.
The agreement covers the 2025-27 school years and aims to balance competitive compensation with the district’s financial stability, according to a joint statement from the district and Education Moorhead.
The tentative agreement must be ratified by Education Moorhead members and approved by the Moorhead School Board before taking effect. Additional details will be released after those votes.
Negotiation timeline
Contract negotiations began in May 2025 and included:
- Nine bargaining sessions
- 16 tentative agreements
- 9.5 hours of mediation
Both sides praised the professionalism of their negotiation teams and the mediator throughout the process.
