MSUM offers new scholarships to public schools students in Fargo & West Fargo

MOORHEAD, Minn. – Minnesota State Moorhead has announced it will provide a new $6,000 scholarship with application fees and in-state tuition rates waived to students at public schools in Fargo and West Fargo.

The FPS and WFPS Scholars awards are open to students in the Class of 2026 and beyond with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher that completes the Free Application For Federal Student Aid and enrolls full time at MSUM the fall after graduation.

Those with a 3.7 GPA or higher will have reserved seats at Moorhead’s Honors Scholarship Competition Day where students compete for more than $1 million in scholarships.

The money will be awarded over four years during both semesters.

“The Fargo and West Fargo Scholars Programs build on our shared commitment to keeping talented young people in our community, expanding opportunities for top scholars, and ensuring that students who call Fargo-Moorhead home can imagine a future here,” Minnesota State Moorhead President Tim Downs said.

MSUM has a similar scholarship for Moorhead Area Public Schools students.

An information session for Fargo and West Fargo students and their families is scheduled for Tuesday, February 10 at 6:00 PM at the Christianson Alumni Center.
