N.D. Ethics Committee finds Dockter guilty of three violations

BISMARCK, ND — Representative Jason Dockter is being found guilty of three ethics violations by the State Ethics Commission.

This marks the first time the commission has named a public official engaged in unethical behavior. Dockter voted on several state budget and leasing bills in 2023 that benefited properties he has partial ownership of. It was determined by the commission that he failed to disclose his ownership prior to voting, which constitutes as two violations. The third violation came after a previous conviction in May 2024 a misdemeanor for voting on bills benefiting his own property.

The findings are being referred to the State Legislature for further action.
