BISMARCK – North Dakota’s Industrial Commission has announced two $500,000 grant awards for its Renewable Energy Program.
Wellspring Hydro is receiving $500,000 for the “Unlocking Lithium Carbonate in Produced Water for Battery Grade Li2CO3 for In-State Cathode Manufacturing” project. The second project, also receiving $500,000, is the University of North Dakota’s “Empowering the Critical Minerals for Novel Cathode Materials-based Drone Batteries” project.
The grant program is funded by oil and gas production tax revenue in the state.
