ND Senator Hoeven holds roundtable on ‘big beautiful bill’ benefits for farmers

Fargo, N.D. – North Dakota Senator John Hoeven held a roundtable discussion on Wednesday to highlight some provisions in the Senate version of the so-called ‘big beautiful bill’ for farmers.

Hoeven, who met with farm leaders at North Dakota State University, says the “heart and soul” of his proposed ‘FARMERS’ Act was put into the budget bill.

The provisions include higher reference prices for agriculture and price loss coverage, strengthening and expanding access to affordable crop insurance, extending the sugar loan program and rate through 2031 and improving livestock disaster programs.

“The One Big Beautiful Bill provides significant tax relief for working Americans, including our farmers and ranchers, but we also secured the heart and soul of the farm bill in this legislation,” said Hoeven.

“These are the core pieces of the farm bill and vital to farm country. The Senate has now passed what is essentially a seven year farm bill.”

Hoeven is again praising the other components of the budget bill, which Hoeven says will preserve $4 trillion in tax breaks that President Trump approved during his first term.
