WAHPETON, N.D. – North Dakota State College of Science President Dr. Rod Flanigan has announced he will retire on December 31.
“It has been an honor to serve the college community,” Flanigan said. “I am confident that the future of NDSCS is bright, and I truly believe the best days of NDSCS are still ahead.”
Flanigan began his career at NDSCS in June 2022. The college says under his lead, it’s achieved record enrollment growth by increasing nearly 32 percent over four years and he’s expanded academic offerings to better meet the needs of students and employers across the region.
Flanigan describes his accomplishments as launching the college’s first bachelor’s degree program, the Bachelor of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene, the launch of the Career Innovation Center and the development of new academic programs including Aviation Maintenance Technology, Community Health Worker and Fire Science.
The North Dakota University System and State Board of Higher Education will begin looking for a new NDSCS president in the coming weeks.
“Michele and I are looking forward to spending more time with our grandchildren and creating memories with them that we would otherwise miss,” Flanigan said.
