FARGO, N.D. – University leaders and educators at North Dakota State University hosted a ribbon cutting Friday for a new building expansion to support their growing performing arts programs on campus.
The school just completed work on Challey Hall, which is a 9,700 square foot addition to the Challey School of Music.
The project came together thanks in large part to the philanthropy of Bob and Sheila Challey.

The couple has been a large supporter of higher education investments over the years.
The music department was renamed after the Challeys in 2014. Years earlier, the pair established a scholarship endowment fund in 2006.
The school says the new space “features upgraded rehearsal and classroom areas, advanced music technology, new recording studios and enhanced performance environments.”
