NDSU presidential search to end Monday with N.D. higher ed board choosing a new NDSU leader

FARGO, N.D. – The search for North Dakota State University’s next president ends Monday, as the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education is set to announce its selection to lead the University.

The three finalists – Dr. Marshall Stewart, Dr. Bernie Savarese and Dr. Alan Smith – will all go through interviews with the state board Monday morning, at 9:15 a.m., 10:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m., respectively. The three interviews are scheduled for 45 minutes each.

The board will then move into executive session. The session will be limited to consideration of ‘the appointment of, and contract terms for, the next President of North Dakota State University.’ The session will be limited to voting board members, nonvoting advisors, the Commissioner, invited NDUSO staff, board counsel, Academic Search consultants, and co-chairs of the presidential search committee.

After the executive session, the board will then convene in public session to choose the next president.

A public meet-and-greet with the new president is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday in the Oceti Sakowin Ballroom A at the Memorial Union.
