New details in Friday Bank Robbery at Wells Fargo

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – Court documents obtained by Valley News Live have provided more details in the August 1 bank robbery at Wells Fargo.

According to the documents, police were called to the Main Avenue branch in Fargo for the reported robbery.

The suspect, Jay Barker, entered the lobby on foot, grabbed a pen and wrote on a piece of tissue “Robbery 20-50-100″ and handed the note to staff. He then put on a mask and demanded money.

The three bank tellers working at the time forcibly handed over $10,520 from their cash drawers. They say they didn’t see any weapons on Barker, but weren’t able to confirm that during the robbery. Barker then left the bank on foot and drove away.

Barker and his vehicle were located at Arc Attic Treasures later that evening and detained. He then admitted to police that he had robbed the bank, according to court documents. The stolen cash was still inside his vehicle.

They also found his handwritten note, and two pens possibly used to write the note that they seized as evidence.

Barker is being charged with theft between $10,000-$50,000 and robbery.
