MOORHEAD, Minn. (Valley News Live) – A sizzling showdown of the 2nd annual Heroes Compass Wing Cook-Off is happening Saturday at Swing Barrel Brewing Co. in Moorhead.
The event will feature 12 different cooks preparing 360 pounds of wings for people to chow down. All proceeds from the event support Heroes Compass Care Packages.
The care packages will be deployed to military members, homeless Veterans in need, police officers, firefighters, and first responders.
Each care package is filled with essential supplies, morale-boosting items, and messages of appreciation.
“We focus on the mental health aspect and try to bring the 22 Veteran suicides a day down to zero,” said Tim Kuhn, the Founder of Heroes Compass.
The event will have live music, various brews from Swing Barrel Brewing, family-friendly atmosphere, and raffle prizes.
The event starts at 3 p.m. and will wrap up at 7 p.m.
