BISMARCK – North Dakota’s universities and colleges are seeing record enrollment not seen for more than a decade.
The North Dakota University System (NDUS) announced 47,552 students are enrolled across the system’s 11 campuses – a number that’s short of the 2011 record enrollment of 48,883.
According to the NDUS, headcount was up nearly four percent over last year. Full-time equivalents are also up nearly four percent this fall, to 36,150 students.
“North Dakota’s colleges and universities continue to attract students from across the region because of their innovative programs, strong career pathways and welcoming campus communities,” said North Dakota University System Commissioner Brent Sanford. “This fall, the energy on our campuses has been extraordinary. Students know that when they choose North Dakota, they’re choosing a culture that puts them first and a faculty and staff dedicated to helping them succeed in their future careers.”
The system’s demographics show more than 6,000 high school students are enrolled across the system. Undergraduates – not including high school students – have topped 34,000.
